This is one of my favorite prints from my Etsy store. In fact, I like it so much I have a 5x7 print displayed in my own living room. It really brightens up the joint. I'm giving away an 8x10 in metallic finish -- truly, truly a gorgeous finish -- to one of my awesome readers as a thanks for helping make this blog a success.
To enter:
1. Go to my Etsy store and give me some constructive criticism. What can I do to bring more traffic to my store? Which prints do you like best/least?
--or--
2. Spread the word about this giveaway on your blog, then leave a link to your post in the comments.
I will choose a winner (entirely randomly) on Saturday, Feb. 28. Have fun, and good luck!

your artwork is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI helped with my traffic by joining groups, etsy and non etsy.

All of your art is gorgeous! My favorite is Winter Settles In! I have no criticism here, only praise.

This giveaway got me to the site. I was really impressed with your work. I love the purple haze and tunnel vision. I am always attracted to photos with odd light like these.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
I really like the Washed Ashore print, but they are all gorgeous. It seems to me you are doing lots of things right....great descriptions of the prints, good tags, and joining the blogging world. You should definately promote the free shipping you listed in North America.
ReplyDeleteHmm...generally I think the shop is laid out really well. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love your Winter Settles In photo! I love your style and I have no critisism. About how to bring more traffic to your store, you can offer a few giveaways on different blogs/sites to attract the people's attention. If you don't mind, I can help to promote your Etsy store on my blog. =)
ReplyDeleteBest regards,

I think give aways are a good way to publish your work! I love Over Malibu 8x10 fine art photo and the giveaway's prize... because I adored the animals, but I think your work is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!

Ooh! Will blog about it tonight. Love this pic!
ReplyDeleteLittle Gray Pixel,
ReplyDeleteYour photography is exquisite, so I do not have much constructive criticism to offer! If I had to think of something, it would only be to use one of your gorgeous prints as your avatar, so as to lure more people into your shop in the forums. The camera avatar is cute and clever, and it matches your banner, but if I saw your Washed Ashore or Cottonball print as an avatar in the forums, I wouldn't be able to resist clicking on it!
On the other hand, having the camera match your banner helps build your cohesive brand image, so it's really a toss-up on what to do with that.
The only other piece of advice that I hear a lot is to keep your shop announcement really short, so that when people click into your shop they automatically see your featured items, instead of having to scroll down to see what you sell. This is a tough call as well, since that is important information you have in your shop announcement. The only alternative would be to put that info in your profile and have a disclaimer in your shop announcement that says "For more info on my prints, read my profile".
I don't know! :) I'm a fan of your work though, I used your Catbird Seat postcard set in a treasury a while back. I'm still considering buying them to frame in my daughter's room!
really like your stuff! maybe marketing some more will help with more sales. i know i sent out lots of emails to my friends and asked them to pass along to their friends. then for v-day, i sent another email out and re-marketted to the guys who might want to get presents for their girls... that got some more sales. i'm also trying to still figure out how to better market so more people will come over to my etsy and purchase... but it seems to just take time.
ReplyDeleteas for the giveaway, i love it! such a great piece of photography. :) your stuff is really great. i am sure in time, your name will get out there and you will sell more.
thanks.
First of all your work is beautiful! You really do have a talent for what you do, so that is a great start. This is one way to bring more traffic - giveaways. People need to see your work, and by sponsoring giveaways, both on your own blog and on others, you will get more people talking about you. Also, I would suggest jumping on Twitter and Facebook and some of the other sn sites. They are a great way to spread the word! You have a great shop, so I would love to see you do well!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could offer framing for an extra cost to make things convenient? All of your prints are beautiful. I saw that some of your prints were taken in RPV and torrance which was exciting because I live in RPV!
ReplyDeleteReally love the prints in your etsy shop. Perhaps bc I'm living in LA too :) One thing I would say (and this only bc you're making me!) is to sign your name at the end of your profile and shop info. Adds a good personal touch and a way for customers to address their initial conversations with you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. If you're interested in promoting your etsy shop, we do weekly giveaways on my blogzine ~ http://fabyuhluhs.com. Feel free to get in touch with me about participating in that. allie at fabyuhluhs dot com
I really love Call Letters, Five Palms, and Bird on a Wire...the simplicity and blast of color make my day! (and would look really great in my apartment!) ;) Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove call letters is my fave. And the only thing I would suggest would be maybe try adding a couple more sales!
ReplyDeleteI think your photography is beautiful! One thing I could suggest would be to offer more postcards/notecards/smaller, less expensive items in your shop so if someone isn't looking to spend a lot, they have the option.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if there is any way to make something personalized, I think that sells really well! People have used photography to spell out a custom note in the sand, spell out someone's name with vintage signs, whatever the case may be.
You could also offer frames for your prints in shop! :)
I love your purple haze picture :)
ReplyDeletereally a great one >>>>
I like this Cottonball shot!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could do your sections differently...
nature, abstract, etc. Just a thought :)
I love your site! Thanks for the giveaway. If I had any constructive criticism, it wouldn't be about your photography! I would love to see notecards in your shop. My friend makes her photos into notecards and sells out of them every year at the church craft sale.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work- you're very talented!
Oh- and I blogged about your giveaway!
ReplyDeletePick me, Monty!
my tip for getting more traffic is to join street teams or participating in etsy chat and meeting new etsians.
ReplyDeleteYour shops layout is great how it is.

ReplyDeleteI love the Surf's up photo...I just want to zoom in and see the surfer's paddling! I love your photography and blog!
I agree with some of the entries...maybe postcards and the option of framing. I think you are doing well with blogging and getting your name out there!
Good Luck and hope biz picks up for you!

Maybe doing interviews on other blogs would bring more traffic to your store?
ReplyDeleteI do not have a least favorite since I rather like all of your prints, but my favorite is Your Grass Isn't Green!
Thanks for the giveaway!

I love your work. My fave shots are the one of trees against sunset or other background. My least favorite is the Somebody Else's Wishes - neat idea but really hard to see what the shot is of unless you read the caption.
