My heart skipped a beat when I came across this photo on Apartment Therapy. Click here to see more angles.
When I was a preteen, I spent an entire weekend compartmentalizing my room. One corner was for watching TV, my bed was for looking at the NKOTB posters on the wall (ahh, Jordan), my desk was for typing my stories. Another space was for reading. I positioned two bookshelves so that they nearly cordoned off a corner. Inside I assembled a pile of pillows, where I sat, back against the wall, with a good book. It was my favorite compartment by far, like my own little library. My own book nook.
If I could create a grown-up book nook, it would look like the space above, only with books instead of DVDs. And to think it was created using Lack pieces from IKEA. I'd attempt it in a heartbeat if I were even the slightest bit handy. Unfortunately it took me the better part of a morning to put together an IKEA bookshelf, and that was with the oh-so-helpful instructions.
