31 things to do before I turn 32

I've been meaning to do this since my birthday last month. There are only a few things on this list that make me cringe a little (I'll let you figure out which ones). For the most part, though, I am excited to start crossing things off and documenting them here on this blog.

1. Go to the top of the Space Needle.
2. Play a game of poker at a casino.
3. Watch my friend Philip get married.
4. Make my own macarons.
5. Finish my novel.
6. Send out at least 30 query letters after finishing the novel.
7. Go sailing.
8. Get my wisdom teeth taken out.
9. Raise $1,000 for lung cancer research.
10. Try a new hairstyle.
11. Ride a roller coaster.
12. Read 31 books.
13. Ice-skate for the first time.
14. Get a passport.
15. Stay at the beach all day. Until the sun sets.
16. See a band in concert that I haven't seen before.
17. Try Ethiopian food.
18. Pay off at least one credit card.
19. Sign up for a 5k.
20. Invest in a nice handbag.
21. Go to wine country for the weekend.
22. Make it back to the Hollywood Bowl this summer.
23. Finish the 100 Movies.
24. Send cookies to my family for Christmas.
25. Pack a picnic and kick the soccer ball around.
26. Go to an interactive play.
27. Escape to an island for a day.
28. Watch a movie at Grauman's Chinese Theater.
29. Meet girlfriends for a traditional English tea.
30. Be part of a live studio audience.
31. Go to the ballet.

  1. Ooo, can I steal most of your list? Except for the wisdom teeth, that's already done and may I say yuck. And I've been ice skating a lot. But what is an interactive play?

  3. Amie -- Sooo not looking forward to having my wisdom teeth pulled. An interactive play is one in which the audience participates in some way. I'm considering something like this.

  5. you inspired me... i think i am going to go make my own list- i have less than 6 mo. before i turn 32...eek!

    ps... visiting wine country was one of my favorite things to do while living in LA. you should really go up to paso robles, rather than santa barbara... especially if you are doing a weekend. but, really- you can't go wrong wine tasting!

    and ethiopian food is so yummy!
