One night when our guests had departed and the night was winding down I stumbled upon a childhood favorite, "The Neverending Story," and ended up watching it for the first time in my adult life. This
movie really holds up, friends. It's amazing, and dare I say even more poignant than when I was a child. At the risk of sounding like an old fuddy-duddy, they just don't make them like this anymore. The entire tale is about fighting the "Nothing." Now that's deep!

Do you remember the amulet Atreyu wore? AURYN, as it's called, holds a lot of symbolism. According to
Wiki's info on the book, which is going on my bookshelf pronto, "the two snakes represent the dual nature of the two worlds, Fantastica and Reality, but also the twin nature of their mutual creation and destruction." Ponder on that for a moment.
And now for the obvious: I've always wanted this necklace.
Until I can hunt down an artisan to craft me one, I've found similarities between AURYN and the jewelry below, most of which are some form of infinity knot or sailor's knot. I think we can fight the Nothing with them, don't you?
