Photoshoot: 7 Months Old

Baby girl turned 7 months old on Aug. 28. Each month on the 28th I plan to take a photoshoot with Miss Alexa and her owl to mark her growth because, as everyone likes to remind me, "they're only little for a short while."

She's wearing 6-9 month clothing; she's nearly outgrown all of her 6-month stuff, especially onesies. Her torso length is way too long to snap those snaps.

We have a pretty good sleep routine down. She gets her binky, her little blankie and some Rockabye Baby lullabies. If she's ready to sleep, she'll roll around for a few minutes and pass out. Sometimes it goes better if one of us stays in the room with her. Sometimes she resists sleeping. What can I say? She's still Alexa, and she still has her own stubborn views on sleeping (she hates it).

She has been eating everything we give her. She's partial to purees, but we've been trying to familiarize her with texture by giving her tiny pieces of real food to chomp on with her gums. We have varied success; most days she'll give me "that look," suck on the food for a few minutes and let it dribble out of the corner of her mouth. She gets fruit for breakfast and meat/veggies for dinner. She's drinking five bottles of milk a day, but the amount she's drinking is decreasing.

We had the worst photoshoot the other day. It was darker than usual in our room, Alexa was squirmy, I was in a hurry to get ready for work and the camera was almost out of juice. I'm lucky I got these shots at all. They're ALL somewhat blurry. C'est la vie.
